The Apocalypse is Upon us

Tyler was running down the street to get away from the mass murders and suicides when all of a sudden he heard a scream as ear piercing as a squealing hog. He ran to the horrifying sound to find his sister lying on the ground bleeding out. He went up to her and started sulking when he heard his sister. Was he just hearing voices he wondered. Then he looked down and saw that his sister wasn’t dead yet and was using her last bit of strength to talk to him.

“Don’t worry about avenging me brother. Instead save yourself. Protect yourself until the war is over. Mom, Dad and I all would want that from you. I known you didn’t mean to cause all of this trouble leading to the nuclear war, and I still love you anyways, and I always will,” She said and then her head fell and Tyler no longer could feel her warm breath on his face and she was gone. He checked her pulse with his fingers on her heart and felt nothing. He sat her down and cried. Why did all this have to happen, wondered Tyler. He thought back to the day it all started, two weeks earlier.

It was a hot afternoon at about 106 degrees where the sun was beading down on you to the point where you couldn’t be outside for long. Tyler and his friends were playing basketball on the hot blacktop and it felt like they were standing on frying pans. You know how people say that it is hot enough to cook eggs on the ground. Today, you literally could cook eggs on the ground. They tried it. Anyways back to the story. Tyler and his friends were finishing up their game so they could get inside before they burned to death when they saw a kid on top of his roof trying to jump. They always knew that Tommy was suicidal, but they never thought he would go through with it. His friends wanted to see what would happen to Tommy, but Tyler couldn’t let him go through with it. Tyler rushed to Tommy’s house right as he jumped and he caught him. Tommy had wanted to die, and since Tyler stopped him he plotted revenge. Tommy was messed up and the problem was that he was really smart. He had built contraptions to help him build more contraptions and so on. He was lonely though because his family hated him and he had no friends. A few days later Tommy finished his newest project, a high tech flamethrower. He ran to Tyler’s house. Tyler was outside shooting hoops when he saw Tommy running while holding a flamethrower. Tyler ran into Tommy’s open garage to see if there were any contraptions that could save him and he found a weird orb that looked like a bouncy ball. He threw it at Tommy and missed. Tommy chased him into the corner of the garage because he wanted to corner Tyler to burn him to death. Tyler jumped over Tommy and knocked over a controller with one button on it. It did nothing, or so Tyler thought. He asked what happened and Tommy explained that the U.S was screwed. He said that he was testing out how to hack into programs and while testing he made a controller that launched weapons at North Korea. He had decided to do this incase of a nuclear war, but instead it had caused one.

Tyler said, “Tommy you have to do something to stop it, or else the weapons would hit the U.S and kill everyone.”

Tommy had other plans. Since Tyler had stopped his suicide before, he told Tyler that he was going to his room to grab something to help out with the problem at hand, but instead he jumped out the window. When Tyler heard

“AHHHHHH, OOPH” THUD, he knew Tommy was gone. He knew there was nothing he could do, but most of all he knew that the U.S. was as screwed as Tommy was. Later that week North Korea launched a nuclear bomb. Tyler’s family couldn’t afford to buy a big enough bomb shelter if they wanted to have food to survive for a week because since the threat of a nuclear bomb, the prices for a bomb shelter went way up. Tyler and his sister waited in the bomb shelter while their parents waited outside to give their lives so their kids could live.

As Tyler finished  remembering how it happened he realized he needed to bury his sister. He brought her to his backyard and started digging. As he put her in the grave he had made, another survivor came up to him and asked if Tyler had food. Tyler said he would check inside his house and as he turned around, the guy shoved him into the grave that his sister was in. Tyler fell on his neck and died. The man took both Tyler and his sister and stored them away, in his little house, to eat. In a nuclear war, cannibalism is the way to stay alive.
