The Giving Tree is my favorite book, and I believe it is well deserved because of the lesson taught by the book. When I was little, my mom read it to me about once a week, and I loved it so much. She also expressed the lesson to me that it is good to help out whenever you can. As the boy grew up in the story, the tree did not have as much stuff to give him. He could not swing on the branches, climb the trunk or have time to take the apples anymore. But, when the boy kept coming back, the tree kept offering things to give him to help him out. My mom really made me feel that being helpful was a key to success in life.
